Areas of use Useful for Rune/stat requirements
Necropolis Mid-End-game Medium-High

This is a good starting team for those who are making the transition to Necropolis after having farmed Dragon's Lair considerably. This team utilizes monsters which should be obtainable for most players in the game, using mid to high end runes farmed from Dragon's Lair.

Core team[]

All the monsters chosen have multi-hit skills to help break down the Lich's shield quicker. The foundation of the team comes from Colleen, who possesses two multi-hit skills and great support coverage to help with survivability, and Belladeon, who brings a moderate heal and a source of defense break to amplify damage against targets (including the Lich itself). Loren and Adrian are utilized as support/DPS units who bring multi-hit attacks to help break down the Lich's shield, as well as useful buffs/debuffs to assist in taking down the Lich. That said, the team is flexible enough that Adrian and Loren can realistically be subbed out in favor of a multitude of monsters with multi-hit attacks and similar utility.

Loren[]

End Game

  • Loren brings two multi-hit attacks, a passive which adds a source of defense break to all of her attacks, and a great attack based leader skill that applies unconditionally. But most importantly, she brings a source of speed debuff against the Lich. Since the Lich caps attack speed, and ATB increasing/decreasing skills have no effect, a speed debuff is one of the only ways to wrack up turns against the Lich. Since Loren's main attack hits 3 times, she effectively has a 88% cumulative chance of landing a speed debuff. Loren also benefits from her light typing, which means she has a 15% bonus critical hit chance against all targets in the dungeon, including the Lich, and her accuracy awakening bonus lowers the amount of accuracy needed from runes. That said, her light tying is a double edge sword as she will also be a priority target for enemy monsters as well.
  • Though Loren is an attack monster, her 681 attack is actually below average for a DPS monster. Regardless, players should try to invest as much attack as possible to maximize damage, as well as critical rate and critical damage. Accuracy will let her inflict her speed debuff against the Lich. Since the Lich caps speed, players need not worry too much about investing in this stat, although players should ensure that Loren moves last regardless in order to make sure she is able to inflict a speed debuff against the Lich after his shield is down. Having HP and defense invested will also help tremendously, as her light typing will mean she becomes a priority target for enemy monsters.
  • Violent runes are the optimal choice in this dungeon, as it not only helps Loren bring down the shield if her team mates derp, but it also gives her another chance to inflict a speed debuff against the Lich should she get resisted or she uses her second attack instead. Revenge runes are the ideal secondary set, since the Lich's shield counter goes down from revenge hits as well, although other secondary sets (or not secondary sets) works fine as well.

Belladeon[]

Suggested Runes
Build 4-Set(s) 2-Set(s) Stat Priorities ? Useful for ?

Violent supporter ?

Hp, Acc

End game

  • Belladeon is a versatile support monster whose usefulness extends into NB10 as well. His light typing ensures that he'll be a priority target for monsters in NB10, which is great if he's runed tanky enough. He also brings a moderate heal and a source of defense break, which helps his party members prioritize targets, and helps increase damage against the Lich.
  • Ideally, Belladeon would be built purely with HP/defense and accuracy, since his speed gets capped against the Lich. However, because Belladeon is commonly used in Giant's Keep and Dragon's Lair as well, you will likely have invested in speed, which shouldn't hurt his role in this dungeon too much if you invest enough in HP/defense.
  • Violent is the ideal set here, as it is with every monster in NB10, since it will give him multi-hit opportunities against the Lich, and will help refresh the cooldown on his heal. Revenge is the ideal secondary set, although any secondary set should work fine.

Colleen[]

Suggested Runes

Spd, Hp, Acc

End game

  • Colleen's skillset was practically made for Necropolis. Both her attacks are multi-hit, and she brings an attack debuff, a heal block, and a moderate heal that also gives a party wide attack buff. Her heal block especially should not be underestimated, as the Lich's attacks do heal him, prolonging the fight and potentially leaving opportunities for a team wipe. And despite being a 2-star monster, she has great bulk with good stat distribution for a support monster, and she's obtainable by everyone. This little bird is the complete package, and should be part of almost every NB10 team.
  • Ideally, Colleen would be built purely with HP/defense and accuracy, since her speed gets capped against the Lich. However, because Colleen is frequently used in Rift of Worlds as well, you will likely have invested in speed, which shouldn't hurt her role in this dungeon too much if you invest enough in HP/defense.
  • Violent is the ideal set here, as it is with every monster in NB10, since it will give her more multi-hit opportunities against the Lich, and will help refresh the cooldown on her heal as well. Revenge is the ideal secondary set, although any secondary set should work fine.

Adrian[]

Suggested Runes
Build 4-Set(s) 2-Set(s) Stat Priorities ? Useful for ?

Violent attacker ?

Atk, CR, CD

End Game

  • Adrian provides the role of a DPS/support hybrid, and has a great kit in fulfilling this role. Both his attacks are multi-hit, making him a good shield breaker against the Lich, and he provides a heal block and source of Continuous Damage to stop the Lich from self-healing and add additional damage respectively. His third skill is especially handy as it provides a party wide speed buff, allowing your team to break the Lich's speed cap, and a critical rate buff to help ensure guaranteed critical hits. And though he's classified as a support monster, he has decent attack and very high damage multipliers, especially when there's only a single target, as is the case with the Lich.
  • Like most attack monsters, try and focus on stats like attack, critical rate, and critical damage to maximize damage output. Investments in HP/defense will help with survivability as he doesn't have a ton of inherent bulk. Accuracy will help when applying debuffs. Once again, speed is largely a wasted stat as the Lich caps speed after a certain amount, although having a little bit will help keep up with the Lich and ensure turn priority.
  • Violent is the ideal set here, as it is with every monster in NB10, since it will give him more multi-hit opportunities against the Lich, and will help refresh the cooldown on his speed/critical rate buff as well. Revenge is the ideal secondary set, although any secondary set should work fine.

Shihwa[]

  • Shihwa's leader skill makes her a great choice for those running a fire heavy team in NB10. And even if her leader isn't usable, she brings a lot of utility and damage support in Necro. Both her attack skills are multi-hitters, with her second skill being a sleep skill that also gives her an inherent Violent proc upon use (although her AI won't actually use it on bosses). In particular, her biggest perk is her third skill, which has a combined multiplier of 850%, only has a 3 turn cooldown, and also brings a source of Branding, which can stack on top of a defense break to further increase damage. Her only real drawback is her rather average attack. Otherwise, she still a solid choice for Necro.
  • Like most attack monsters, try and focus on stats like attack, critical rate, and critical damage to maximize damage output. Investments in HP/defense will help with survivability as he doesn't have a ton of inherent bulk. Accuracy will help when applying debuffs. Speed is largely a wasted stat as the Lich caps speed after a certain amount, although having a little bit will help keep up with the Lich and ensure turn priority.
  • Violent is the ideal set here, as it is with every monster in NB10, since it will give her more multi-hit opportunities against the Lich, and will help refresh the cooldown on her powerful nuke as well. Revenge is the ideal secondary set, although any secondary set should work fine.

Zibrolta[]

Suggested Runes
Build 4-Set(s) 2-Set(s) Stat Priorities ? Useful for ?

Violent attacker ?

Atk, CR, CD, Acc

  • Zibrolta has the distinction of being one of the few monsters who brings a multi-hit attack on all three of its skills. That makes him an excellent shield breaker. He also has very high attack, and his third skill, while unreliable in most contexts, has a jaw dropping 1200% multiplier against the Lich since he's the only monster on the field most of the time. He also brings a source of Continuous Damage on two of his skills, which does deals damage to the Lich before the beginning of his next turn. His only drawback is his somewhat low HP, but he more than makes up for it with his damage potential and shield breaking capability.

Hwa[]

Suggested Runes
Build 4-Set(s) 2-Set(s) Stat Priorities ? Useful for ?

  • Hwa is not the most efficient or ideal monster to bring to Necro as both her attacks are only single hitters (her passive gives a chance for a double hitter, but she will single hit more often than not). Her ATB decrease will also have no effect on the Lich. However, she is a monster commonly used in other dungeons, and so will spare many players the need to work up another dedicated Necro monster. Her biggest strength in Necro is her slow debuff, which has a high rate of success, as well as her damage potential. If made last in turn priority, she will more often than not inflict that all important slow debuff on the Lich while also dealing decent damage.
  • Like most attack monsters, try and focus on stats like attack, critical rate, and critical damage to maximize damage output. Investments in HP/defense will help with survivability as he doesn't have a ton of inherent bulk. Accuracy will help when applying debuffs. Speed is largely a wasted stat as the Lich caps speed after a certain amount. This will pose a problem for those who use Hwa for other dungeons, as most places require Hwa to be runed extremely fast.
  • Violent is the ideal set here, as it is with every monster in NB10, since it will give her more multi-hit opportunities against the Lich. Revenge is the ideal secondary set, although any secondary set should work fine.

Fuco[]

  • Fuco is a great shield breaker who also brings great DPS. Both of his attacks are multi-hitters, with his first skill bringing that all important source of speed debuff, and his second bringing a source of defense break while also potentially boasting an amazing 1200% multiplier, thanks to the fact that the Lich is mostly by himself. His passive also gives him great survivability, and combined with his high HP stat, allows players to focus mostly on damage stats without worrying about him dying.
  • Like most attack monsters, try and focus on stats like attack, critical rate, and critical damage to maximize damage output. Investments in HP/defense will help with survivability as he doesn't have a ton of inherent bulk. Accuracy will help when applying debuffs. • Fuco is a great shield breaker who also brings great DPS. His passive also makes him immune to stun or freeze, which means the crystals leading up to the boss will have no effect on Rigel. His passive also lowers critical hit chances on him, adding to his survivability, and combined with his high HP stat, allows players to focus mostly on damage stats without worrying about him dying.
  • Like most attack monsters, try and focus on stats like attack, critical rate, and critical damage to maximize damage output. Investments in HP/defense will help with survivability as he doesn't have a ton of inherent bulk. Accuracy will help when applying debuffs. Yen[]

  • Yen is an effective DPS monster in Necro, bringing that all important speed debuff to slow the Lich down, and a powerful 3 hit second skill that also brings a source of Continuous Damage. Her passive also gives her an inherent Violent mechanic, giving her a 15% chance of going again each time she gets a turn. And best of all, unlike Violent runes, her chances of getting consecutive turns does not lower, no matter how many consecutive turns she's already gained. With the right kind of luck, she can potentially take the Lich down by herself (although it's not likely).
  • Like most attack monsters, try and focus on stats like attack, critical rate, and critical damage to maximize damage output. Investments in HP/defense will help with survivability as she doesn't have a ton of inherent bulk. Accuracy will help when applying debuffs. Speed is largely a wasted stat as the Lich caps speed after a certain amount, although having a little bit will help keep up with the Lich and ensure turn priority.
  • Violent is the ideal set here, as it is with every monster in NB10, since it will give her more multi-hit opportunities against the Lich. Violent runes also synergize very well with her passive, giving her two dice roll chances for another turn. Revenge is the ideal secondary set, although any secondary set should work fine.

Ran[]

  • Ran is an effective DPS monster in Necro who brings similar utility to the other Rakshasas. Like Yen, she has a powerful 3 hitter with Continuous Damage bebuffs. She also has an even more powerful 4 hit nuke in her third skill with an astonishing 840% combined multiplier. Unfortunately, ATB decreasing/increasing skills are neutralized against the Lich, so the main effect from Ran's third will have zero effect there. Nonetheless, the damage potential alone makes Ran worth running as your main slower and DPS monster with shield breaking capabilities.
Revenge is the ideal secondary set, although any secondary set should work fine.

  • Sera is a great shield breaker who can also provide some good DPS, thanks to her high damage multipliers and the fact that all her skills are multi hitters. In particular, her third skill is a powerful nuke with an astounding 840% combined multiplier, while also being a 6 hit attack with a source of Continuous Damage. She also brings a speed debuff on her first skill, making her an effective monster to leave last in your turn order. Her only drawback is her rather low HP, making it necessary to invest in some HP/defense.
  • Like most attack monsters, try and focus on stats like attack, critical rate, and critical damage to maximize damage output. Investments in HP/defense will help with survivability as she doesn't have a ton of inherent bulk. Accuracy will help when applying debuffs. Lanett[]

  • Lanett is an effective shield breaker/DPS monster, thanks to multi-hit skills, strong multipliers, and powerful nuking skill. In particular, her second skill has a combined 760% multiplier thanks to the fact that the Lich is by himself most of the time. Her third skill has a 700% attack multiplier while also having damage scaling based on the target's HP, a premium against boss monsters thanks for their high HP. That her third skill also has healing capability makes an already great skill even more amazing. Her only real drawback is her attack stat, which at 615 is quite low for a DPS monster, although it's made up for by her high HP and defense.
  • Like most attack monsters, try and focus on stats like attack, critical rate, and critical damage to maximize damage output.
Revenge is the ideal secondary set, although any secondary set should work fine.

General usage[]

  • This team is designed to run on auto to ensure as minimal involvement as possible.
  • Turn order is quite important for Necro. Generally, your multi-hit shield breakers should all be early in your turn order in order to make sure the Lich's shield is down early. This will allow you to start applying debuffs against the Lich. In particular, the most important debuff is the speed debuff, as this allows you to rack up turns against the Lich. That means that your speed debuffer (e.g. Loren) should be last (or close to it) in the turn order to ensure she gets a chance to cripple the Lich early after the shield has been broken. Outside of these general rules, you can set your turn order however way you want.
  • Ensure that the team AI is set to target captured monsters first before attacking the Lich. Otherwise, you're going to have a hard time as you'll be constantly down a team member while also being bombarded by your own monster.

Strengths[]

  • Easy to set up using monsters widely available to most people.
  • Flexible and easy to tweak based on individual preference and options.

Weaknesses[]

  • Requires mid to high end Violent runes in most cases to ensure optimal functioning.

Variants[]

  • Loren and Adrian can be replaced by any of the option monsters listed here, provided you're sure that their function can be replaced. Loren in particular should be replaced with a monster with access to speed debuffs.
  • Belladeon can be replaced by Xiong Fei if you need more multi-hit and debuff support.
