• He is possibly named after the Greek primordial Goddess of night. Also his name parallels the other Fairy Kings as they are all named after the satellites of gaseous planets as well, with Nyx being a satellite of Pluto.
• His dark elemental typing maybe related to Nyx being the Goddess of night.
• Nyx is also a moth genus, he shares this trait with Daphnis.
