SWSA Glossary

I have noticed that we don't have a Glossary in this Wiki and, as many newcomers can easily notice, we use a lot of really weird and specific terms. Therefore, I will use this post to build a glossary and grow it with whatever term I find or get suggested.

My intention is to grow this to become more than awesome, however this is a work in progress so, if you really need a glossary that is already awesome I suggest to you refer to this guide in Reddit.

AD : Arena Defense

AO : Arena Offense

AOE or AoE : Area of Effect : RPG lingo, refers to skills that produce damage or apply effects to characters (enemies or allies) on an area of the scenario rather than on a particular character. In SWSA (where there are no scenario areas as such) we use it to re…

Options for next 6*

Hi guys. I have already raised a number of rainbowmons to 5* so it's time to make a new 6*. Following a not-too-long-but-strong tradition I'm making this post to collect some thought around.

This would be my 22nd 6* so it's not as if I have no idea what to do next, I have my own favourite but I really want your opinions in regards to profitability of my options and also on what should be my next objective (I also have my opinion but really want to know yours).

  • 1 Where I stand:
  • 2 Options:

Rune Build for Newbies (& V): Examples

To close this series a few examples on how to decide rune builds for a couple of monsters.

  • 1 Bodyguard Konamiya (Arnold’s Shadow)
    • 1.1 Data collection
      • 1.1.1 Skills
      • 1.1.2 Attributes
    • 1.2 Role and use
    • 1.3 Build
    • 1.4 Outcome
  • 2 Dungeon Crawler Konamiya
    • 2.1 Role and use
    • 2.2 Build
    • 2.3 Outcome
  • 3 Water Guardian Killer Yen
    • 3.1 Data collection
      • 3.1.1 Skills
      • 3.1.2 Attributes
    • 3.2 Role and use
    • 3.3 Build
    • 3.4 Outcome

Konamiya is one of my favorite monsters because it is extremely versatile. It is 100% support monster but can easily adopt different roles.

Its first skill can stun.

The second skill fills up the attack bar and increases attack on an ally. Basically provides it with an additional turn and lets it hit hard.

The third skill heals all allies proportionally to their HP and cleans debuffs…

Rune Build for Newbies (IV): Guide

Finally we’ll go with some guidance on how to design your own build for your monster. I will do a final article with some examples.

  • 1 Basic procedure
  • 2 Collecting information
  • 3 Role and use
    • 3.1 Primary rune set
    • 3.2 Secondary rune set
    • 3.3 Rune Attributes

When designing a build I suggest to follow these three basic steps:

1. Collect information on your monster

2. Decide the target role (nuker, tank, healer, etc.) and use (PvP attack, PvP defense, PvE) of your monster. This will greatly determine the build, or at least the rune sets.

3. Finish the appropriate sets and attributes

You need information to make a good decision on step 2. Lots of information. Fortunately for you, most (if not all) of the information required is available in the monster pages here …

Rune Build for Newbies (III): Rune Types (II)

Let’s continue now with the rune types dropped by the dragons. This one will be short :)

  • 1 Guard
  • 2 Endure
  • 3 Violent
  • 4 Will
  • 5 Nemesis
  • 6 Shield
  • 7 Revenge
  • 8 Vampire

Improves defense (sometimes referred to as armor).

To be honest I don’t have a clear idea on how good it is to boost defense as opposed to improve HP but, given that some monsters have skills that can get ignore defense I usually prefer Energy to Guard. If you want to get deep into this subject you can read this thread (battle mechanics).

Guard sets are always important for monsters whose skills depend on defense, like Copper (living armor wind).

Improves resistance.

Resistance is one for the most underrated stats for monsters. Most people just ignore it but can be important for some monsters that ar…
